American Gangster

Rating: 7.2/10
Genre: Action
Overall value for money and time: 7.5/10

Another film that's overrated. I'm a huge fan of Denzel Washington, but he didn't really shine that much in this movie as compared to "Training Day". I don't like Russell Crowe (apart from his role in "Gladiator" and "A Beautiful Mind") and I thought his role in this movie was only an ok as well. Massive loads of dialogue, but the history of how drugs were brought into US by a gangster who's low on the radar of the police was quite an eye-opener, since this movie was based on true accounts. Russell Crowe plays a righteous cop who gathers up a team to bring down the druglord Denzel Washington. Worth watching for the free history lesson.
