Genre: Slapstick Comedy (Guy Flick)
Overall value for time and money: 6.5/10
3 guy friends whose friendship has deteriorated over the years finally meet up one day for a trip back to Kodiak Valley, the place where they once had the greatest time of their lives. The 4th guy in this film is John Crusack's nephew, and though he's not part of the "gang", the 4 of them embark on a trip down memory lane... and get blasted back to the 80s via a hot tub time machine.
Well, lemme just say that I'm not a fan of guy flicks. Though some of the parts doesnt really makes sense, the rationale of the "time travel" and the way things turned out at the end, it still makes a decent weekend popcorn movie. With the slightly above average jokes (original and crude, but not all too intelligent) and the slight twist in the storyline, it does feel that the 99 mins viewing time wasn't flushed down the toilet bowl... though I wouldn't give it a 2nd viewing.
I like John Crusack but not his acting... frankly, his acting has all along been mediocre, and this film is no exception. Rob Corddry stole the limelight as Lou, the crazy and vulgar character in the movie and for being the motivation of the trip as well as the ending. Worth a watch.
